I may be healthy now and that wasn’t always the case.
In fact, if someone had told me 20 years ago that I’d be interested in nutrition or living any kind of healthy lifestyle, I would have literally laughed out loud.
I mean, I was the gal who LOVED eating at fast food joints and NEVER ever thought of whipping up a meal in my kitchen.
In fact, my kitchen was always the cleanest room in my house because I only went in there when I absolutely had to in order to get a drink out of a can in the fridge.
Back in those days, my weight went up and down like a yo-yo as I struggled to follow what the ‘experts’ on television and the magazines told me was the next latest and greatest ‘diet’ to turn me into the version of myself that I so desperately wanted to be.
Has this ever happened to you?
When the ‘diets’ failed, as they do most of the time, what was my solution to this pesky problem?
Well, first and foremost, I starved myself and that didn’t work too well, as I’m sure you can imagine.
When I wasn’t successful in the starvation arena, my solution was to binge and purge, which began a long cycle in my life when I was bulimic and even more unhealthy than when I was just eating the fast food every day.
I then began to get onto the healthy track and started to eat healthier foods, only to become obsessed with the food on my plate and every bite that passed my lips.
Yup. That wasn’t too good either.
I lived in such a state of confusion for a very long time.
So what the heck happened to turn me into someone who LOVES to make easy recipes, eats delicious real food and loves anything to do with health and wellness?
Well, that was a bit of a process, as many things in life can be.
I went on a journey of discovery, took boatloads of classes on health and wellness, read hundreds of books, became a living foods chef, got board certified as a Holistic Health Coach, got certified as a Detox Specialist, got certified as a Nutritional Therapist, became vegetarian, then vegan, then 100% raw vegan for nine years — felt fabulous and then didn’t feel so good anymore — then discovered a way of eating where I was able to figure out what to eat so my body thrives, so that I feel amazing, so that I experience increased energy, so that I don’t worry about my weight and I live more in balance every single day.
I found my way home to myself and so can you.

Whipping up healthy, delicious meals in my kitchen helps me nourish my body and mind.
Self-care is essential to my well-being, and I practice it daily. One of my favorite self-care activities is taking a long hot bath with essential oils and detox salts then doing NOTHING afterwards.
I adore laughing so hard that it hurts.
My dogs, which I affectionately refer to as “my babies,” put a big smile on my face when I even think about them. I love them more than words.
Fermented foods make me happy and are essential to my health and wellness. There is always something fermenting in my kitchen: kimchi, sauerkraut, water kefir, kombucha and/or veggies. Wanna know why? Then check out my online programs.
I have created a fabulous support system of healthy, empowering people in my life that love me when things are going well and support me when the going gets tough.
I believe femininity is beautiful and powerful.
In years past I used to spend hours at the gym, and now my favorite form of exercise is a nice walk outside with the sun on my face, where I can hear the birds chirping and feel the wind on my body (truthfully, it doesn’t really feel like exercise)!
Inspiration is a major theme in my life. I love being inspired and inspiring others.
I am not ashamed of or afraid to ask for help and often do so on a daily basis.
Guided meditations are a tool that I use to center myself and bring myself peace.
The more I simplify, the happier I am.
I believe a positive attitude is sexy and makes people more attractive.
I have a deep, strong desire to make this world a better place.
I believe that everything happens for a reason, experiences occur to teach us lessons and that everything serves us.
My favorite accessory that I wear every day is my smile.
I am a lover of all things healthy and holistic and have a burning passion for health, wellness, nutrition and sustainable living.
